Índios no Nordeste: história e memórias da Guerra do Paraguai

Os estudos recentes sobre a Guerra do Paraguai inovam pela superação das tradicionais ênfases no conflito bélico, nas descrições de batalhas ou biografias de heróis. As atuais abordagens procuram compreender as diversas fases do conflito, bem como os diferentes grupos sociais nelas envolvidos. Assim como outros segmentos sociais, os povos indígenas no Nordeste também participaram da chamada “grande guerra”. O que nos dizem os registros documentais sobre isso? Qual a memória oral dos povos indígenas sobre o recrutamento? Qual a memória da Guerra? E sobre o retorno e seus significados para a afirmação dos povos indígenas na Região? São questões que nos propomos discutir nesse texto objetivando contribuir para o maior conhecimento da história indígena no Nordeste contemporâneo.Downloads
