Os impressos institucionais como fonte de estudo do pentecostalismo: uma análise a partir do livro história da convenção geral das assembléias de deus no Brasil

Abstract

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir a importância dos impressos institucionais publicados pelas igrejas pentecostais – livros de história escritos por memorialistas, manuais de doutrinas, diários de líderes, biografias, entre outros – ­para as pesquisas em História. Busca-se, desse modo, apresentar as contribuições desse tipo de impresso para os pesquisadores interessado em historiar o movimento pentecostal no Brasil, bem como quais são os principais cuidados ao se trabalhar com este tipo de fonte. Para tanto, tomamos como exemplo o livro História da Convenção Geral das Assembléias de Deus no Brasil publicado em 2004 pela editora Casa Publicadora das Assembléias de Deus (CPAD), a fim de apresentar alguns exemplos dos limites e das possibilidades de análises, partindo do exemplo das resoluções convencionais sobre os usos e costumes da Igreja Assembléia de Deus.
