Nas fronteiras do Império e um conceito de guerra no século XIX: “nessas terras de fronteiras, vinha sentindo cotidianamente as dificuldades de se fazer a guerra”

O presente trabalho objetiva contribuir nas discussões historiográficas entre a Nova História Militar e o fenômeno da guerra. Propomos trabalhar com o conceito de Fronteira da Batalha na perspectiva das funções reais, simbólicas e imaginárias das comunidades da região do Rio da Prata na primeira metade do século XIX, período de estabilidade política e reorganização do Exército que culmina com a guerra contra Rosas e Oribe (1852-1853). Nossa abordagem do fenômeno da guerra, metodologicamente, não exclui a história-batalha e fica longe da discussão sobre “novos” e “antigos” objetos para a história militar. Dentro do quadro teórico apresentamos o fazer à guerra partindo de uma nova e variada perspectiva de elementos políticos, culturais, demográficos, antropológicos e étnicos nas áreas fronteiriças do sul do império do Brasil.Downloads
