As relações cotidianas de uma família de cafeicultores, nas memórias de Braz Ponce Martins (1897-1943)

O presente artigo realizamos uma breve análise da história de vida de Braz Ponce Martins, filho de imigrantes espanhóis e cafeicultor, contada em sua autobiografia Memorial de um Século de Cafeicultores. O estudo desta fonte é relevante porque a memória individual se apoia na memória coletiva, pois todo individuo faz parte de um grupo. Metodologicamente, selecionamos as histórias de suas origens e de sua infância, inserindo-as em seu devido contexto histórico, que remonta à imigração espanhola para São Paulo e à colonização do norte do Paraná. Uma vez que a família de Braz participa do processo de expansão cafeeira do oeste paulista para o norte do Paraná, no intuito de adquirir terras. Indubitavelmente, as narrativas sobre o cotidiano dos cafeicultores na primeira metade do século XX, é a grande contribuição que a autobiografia traz para a História.Downloads
