Lançado no Rio de Janeiro em dezembro de 2017 numa parceria editorial entre a FGV Editora e a Editora Fiocruz, Em Busca do Brasil: Edgard Roquette-Pinto e o retrato antropológico brasileiro (1905-1935) trata-se de uma obra extensa, instigante e rica em análises e detalhes. Escrita pelo historiador Vanderlei Sebastião de Souza, Em Busca do Brasil é o resultado de sua tese de doutorado em História das Ciências, premiada em 2012 pelo Prêmio Anpuh de Teses. O livro em questão é composto de cinco capítulos nos quais a trajetória de Edgard Roquette-Pinto enquanto antropólogo físico se mistura à projetos políticos e intelectuais, às discussões entorno da miscigenação racial, identidade nacional, eugenia e com os rumos da civilização brasileira. Embora o personagem principal da obra tenha vivido na fronteira entre vários campos de atuação, Souza busca focar as suas investigações no Edgard Roquette-Pinto antropólogo físico, e nas relações entre antropologia, nação e política nas primeiras décadas do século XX.Downloads
