Abstract

Este artigo tem o objetivo de analisar o movimento operário e sindical em Passo Fundo (RS) durante os anos de 1920 a 1964, salientando que o objeto de estudo são os trabalhadores urbanos e suas organizações. Para tais propósitos, enfatizar-se-ão as principais diferenças e similitudes entre o processo nacional e o regional, sobretudo no âmbito político; ponderar-se-á sobre as principais correntes político-ideológicas presentes nos sindicatos locais, sobre as principais greves e movimentos populares ocorridos no período em foco e, finalmente, acerca das implicações dos principais acontecimentos sócio-políticos nacionais no movimento operário e sindical passofundense.
