Abstract

Este estudo apresenta a aplicação de ferramentas do Geoprocessamento no estudo e demarcação do caminho de Peabiru no estado do Paraná e seu aproveitamento turístico por intermédio da criação de rotas de peregrinação, na Mesorregião Geográfica Centro-Ocidental Paranaense. O caminho de Peabiru é uma rota pré-colombiana que atravessava o estado Paranaense e foi determinante na construção do atual território estadual. O presente estudo utiliza técnicas computacionais e do Geoprocessamento para redefinir através de mapas antigos a rota do Caminho de Peabiru sobre o atual mapa político do Paraná. Com base neste mapeamento e em pesquisas de campo, com auxilio do receptor GPS, são traçadas rotas para o desenvolvimento do turismo local.
