Abstract

O presente texto trata das relações entre geografia, paradigmas e ideologia. Apresenta, inicialmente, o conceito de ideologia e a prática da produção científica. Em seguida, uma breve análise das concepções de paradigmas e sua expressão ideológica. A noção de paradigma, analisada em sua bifurcação científica e político-ideológica, procura explicitar os elementos do discurso científico construído a partir de posições de defesa ou ataque de paradigmas dominantes e a relação com os critérios de demarcação do campo de investigação e defesa da objetividade científica. E, finalmente, considerações acerca do novo temário da geografia brasileira.
