Abstract

O artigo faz uma revisão e reflexão sobre contribuições teóricas, conceituais e metodológicas, levantadas à luz da geografia, e aplicadas aos estudos de extensão rural, agricultura familiar e assentamentos rurais. Inicialmente recortamos algumas concepções sobre os estudos de percepção nas diversas ciências e, com mais ênfase, no âmbito da geografia. A seguir, pontuamos a importância da Extensão Rural como um conjunto de atividades e serviços que contribuem para o desenvolvimento rural. Por fim, salientamos a extensão rural agroecológica e sua carência de investigação de ordem qualitativa, notadamente que considere a percepção social dos produtores.
