Abstract

The present work aims to identify how the LGBTQIAPN+ community is represented in articles on violence published by the news portal “Campo Grande News” (Campo Grande - MS) from January 1st to December 31st, 2019. The research analyzed the content of seven reports that presented the theme of prejudice relating to minorities, where it was possible to identify the editorials, themes, media resources, format, newsworthiness criteria, content of the articles and pejorative terms and expressions used in the body of the news. The research revealed that the topic reflects a distorted view of society regarding the LGBTQIAPN+ community based on the content expressed in reports in the context of MS.
