The purpose of this article is to highlight similarities between Henri Lefebvre’s propositions and the feminist view. That author is one of the most influential theorists of Brazilian geography. To achieve this aim, we address the relationship between absolute and differential spaces, demonstrating the centrality of the body in his theory and afterwards we correlate his propositions with feminist notes on the ethics of caring for life and love as elements of social and spatial transformation. This challenge is important in the Brazilian epistemological context of the geographic science in order to build scientific identities and lessen the growing hostilities towards the feminist ideal in an increasingly conservative social and political conjuncture in Brazil.
