CALL FOR PAPERS "SPECIAL ISSUE: INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS THEORY IN BRAZIL

In recent years, the field of IR in Brazil has witnessed an intensification of theoretical and theoretical-empirical efforts moving in multiple directions. In some cases, this has meant the questioning of dualisms such as Theory / Practice, Center / Periphery, Global North / Global South, West / Non-West. In other cases, these efforts have revolved around rethinking the production of IR theory from the perspective of intersectional markers of discrimination and differentiation. In others still, this has further led to a re-reading of historically predominant theories. This call invites academics from/in Brazil to collaborate with these reflections. Based on the assumption that IR theory in Brazil matters (“importa”, in Portuguese), this Special Issue seeks to reflect on how its importance is performed and how the importation of external conceptual frameworks should be assessed.
